Loan Officer Jake Ferguson, while new to the mortgage industry, brings enthusiasm and excitement to his role here at Veterans United. Jake has dreams of owning his own “ideal” home one day, and is glad to be in a position to help others achieve the dream of home ownership. Outside of work, he loves to spend time with his girlfriend, family and dog. Jake spends his free time at the gym, reading, or planning his next adventure. He is new to the San Diego area and would love to learn how to surf!

When I first called Veterans United, I was connected to a Loan Officer who, unfortunately, was unable or unwilling to help me due to my circumstances at the time. I could have just given up and called a "more traditional mortgage company" like the loan officer implied. Fortunately, I gave Veterans United a second chance and that is how I got in contact with Jake Ferguson. Mr. Ferguson said that he will do everything possible to get me and my wife the refinance loan we really needed. Not only did Jake deliver on his promise but he went above and beyond by not only qualifying us for the refinance loan but delivering on all the other requests that me and my wife asked for during the application process. Mr. Ferguson always carried himself with professional tact at all times whether it was a good conversation or a difficult conversation. He always took the time to call back in a timely manner and explained everything thoroughly to ensure that I understand what is happening. I'm very pleased with his performance and the loan that we received. I will recommend Mr. Ferguson to all my Veteran friends and family every chance I get. Thank you for everything Jake! Jake was extremely helpful throughout our entire home buying experience. As a first time purchaser I had a great deal of questions and Jake’s patience and professionalism alleviated a lot of stress. His prompt responses and excellent communication ensured I was always up to date on the status of our documents.

Jake was very professional and always responded in a timely manner to my requests. The process took a bit longer than expected, but Jake was able to effectively communicate the issues that caused the delay and immediately addressed the outstanding items. Jake was very polite and understanding and I would recommend him to any future potential customers.

I think Jake did a great job given the circumstances. I'm assuming because of the low interest rates right now and Covid that VU is very busy, most likely too busy and that is the reason it took longer than the agreed upon time to close. I chose VU because out of all the loan officers I spoke with Jake sounded the most sincere and was the most straight to the point(given almost every loan company was offering about the same thing low interest, closing in 21days, closing credits). He communicated very well made sure we understood everything and our closing price was alot lower that we were expecting. I think if the funding of the loan at the end wasn't such a hassle I would recommend VU but I do think they have too much to handle right now and things are getting delayed and that is why I think it may be smarter to go with a company that has less of a work load.

Good rates and assistance through the entire process. Disappointed that I was not made aware of having to put up 1.5x the amount of money required for credited repairs. I was informed so late that I had to put up my own money rather than be able to negotiate with the seller.
